The Genesis of a Christian Blog

Do not believe everything you hear... Which obviously means, that just because you say something does not make it true.  Just because someone does something, does not mean that is who they are.  Just because you continue to do what is wrong, does not mean that it will ever be right.  We see this played out in front of us everyday of our lives. In our society we call this by many names, 'getting ahead', 'tolerance', 'dog eat dog', 'survival of the fittest', 'forgiveness' or 'being understanding' even the 'American Way'.  None of which changes the fact that a lie is a lie, and always will be a lie; and the truth has always been the truth, is the truth, and will always be the truth; regardless of if you believe it or not, or for that matter, how you feel about it.

In the Christian community today we have adopted those ideas, those concepts and accepted them as fact. Yet Jesus repeatedly warned us to not be deceived.  But while we are quick to point out others hypocrisy, and each of us is somehow blessed with the ability to recognize this in others, rarely do we raise the mirror to our own face.  Thus the genesis of this blog, to examine ideas, thoughts, feelings, current events, actions and behavior on a continual basis to see if in fact we are in the faith.

Because the truth is, just because you go to church does not mean you are a Christian, just because you believe in Jesus does not mean you are a Christian, just because you say you are a Christian does not mean you are.  We are masters at deception, but end the end all we have deceived is ourselves, Jesus was very clear when he pointed out “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!Matthew 7:22-23  Could He be any clearer?  But just in case we somehow missed it Jesus then tells us what the distinction is between those He knows and those who claim to know Him. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24  Four words, four little words separate those who claim to know him and those He knows; 'puts them into practice'. So we must examine ourselves.  Do you put them into practice, do I?

And so we begin our journey, into what is Christianity
